Repeat Customer

Have used ILX Group many times over the years for training. Not only are their prices competitive, but their online self-paced learning is thorough and the simulated practise exams prepare you really well for the real thing.

Well prepared for exam

The content of the course gave really good context of the important information required to pass the foundations exam. The simulation exams were bang on. I was scoring in 90's for each randomly generated test and I scored 90% on the certificate exam. There is no interaction with the mobile app, but was a good supplement to listen to while walking/driving to reiterate the lesson.

All in all, I was able to ace the certification with about 3-4 weeks of effort.

How to Become ITIL Certified

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a framework that provides best practices in IT service management. The focus is on improving IT services and productivity while cutting costs. It’s not surprising that employers find ITIL useful, or that those who have passed the exam are so valuable. Our accreditor, PEOPLECERT, conducted a skills and salary survey of IT and business professionals. They found that the mean salary for respondents with an ITIL Foundation certificate was $97,682. With our e-learning courses starting at $129, this is definitely a great investment. Here is everything you need to know to get certified.

Understanding ITIL

ITIL is built on a set of five practice areas or phases. This is the Service Strategy, and its goal is long term improvement for IT organizations. You will become familiar with this during the training, but here is a brief overview to get you started:

• Continual Service Improvement - Achieving incremental and large-scale

service improvements. Continual improvement involves keeping track of

your portfolio of services.

• Service Transition - Moving from development to production. Testing

and quality control are key elements of this.

• Service Operation - Day to day management of services, from the

delivery to the support.

• Service Strategy - Identifying what the organization is trying to achieve

and what the customer needs.

• Service Design - Turning the service strategy into a tangible plan.

Training

The course takes approximately 10 hours to study. It’s recommended that you divide this time up into a number of days. There’s no need to cram for the exam, as you will have access to the material for months after your purchase.

While we offer classroom training in many worldwide locations, if you purchase an online course, you still get full tutor support. We can provide details of an experienced tutor, who will answer any questions you have about the training.

All the course content is available on the ILX Player App, which is free with no in-App purchases. You can download content and then view it offline from the App. This makes it easy to study wherever you are. However, if you prefer hard copies of course material, you can buy a hard copy of the ITIL Foundation Handbook along with the e-learning course.

The Final Exam

The ITIL Foundation exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions. It is a closed book exam with a 60-minute duration. Online exams are invigilated remotely. To pass the exam, you have to correctly answer at least 26 of the 40 questions. If you’ve taken the course online, make use of the mock exam tool. This will make passing the real thing even easier.

If you still don’t pass the exam first time, you can sit the exam a second time at no extra cost. You can book a second examination at your convenience within 3 months of the original exam date. There is no limit on the number of times you can retake an exam. However, with our exceptional learning tools and 98% pass rate, you’ll likely add an ITIL certification to your résumé after the first attempt.
